A mezzanine floor is not just a platform; it is a critical piece of structural engineering. Whether you are planning to store heavy plant machinery, set up a new office suite, or create a retail display, the floor needs to be fit for purpose. We talk in terms of kN/m² (kilonewtons per square metre) to make sure your floor can handle the weight. For a basic office, you might only need 3.5kN/m², but if you are stacking pallets high with a forklift, we will look at 4.8kN/m² or much higher. We calculate the Uniformly Distributed Load (UDL) and the point loads on your existing warehouse slab to ensure everything stays rock solid.

When you are adding a massive steel structure to your building, you want to know it is safe. We are one of the few local fabricators UKAS-accredited to BS EN 1090-1 and approved for Execution Class 2 (EXC2). This is not just a badge on our website; it means our materials, our workshop processes, and our coded welders are all independently audited. Every piece of steel we use is CE-marked, giving you and your insurance company total peace of mind that the structure complies with Part A of the UK Building Regulations. We handle the structural calculations and can even help with the paperwork for Building Control approval.

We have been part of the Southampton industrial scene for a long time, and we know how fast-paced it is. From our workshop, we serve a 25-mile radius including Portsmouth, Winchester, and over towards the New Forest and West Sussex. Because we are local, we can be on-site quickly for a survey and stay in constant contact throughout the build. We do not just drop off a kit and leave you to it; our own team of coded welders and installers will be there to make sure every joint is perfect. We are used to working in 'live' environments too, so we will do our best to keep the noise and disruption to a minimum while your business keeps running.

A mezzanine is only useful if you can get people and goods onto it safely. We provide a complete turnkey solution, which means we fabricate the stairs, handrails, and safety balustrades right here in our workshop. Need a way to get heavy stock up there? We can install specialized pallet gates or cat ladders depending on your needs. For flooring, we offer everything from moisture-resistant P6 chipboard for offices to heavy-duty steel chequer plate or open mesh grating for industrial units. We can even advise on fire rating requirements, such as one-hour fire resistance or suspended ceilings, to make sure you are fully compliant with fire safety laws.
